Youth Decide

Posted 8th September 2009

The Youth of Australia has the opportunity to lead the way in a global action plan on climate change. In December the United Nations climate change negotiations will be held in Copenhagen and we need to send a clear message about what needs to be done to secure a cleaner, greener future for all. Australia's youth can be a voice for our generation: both here in Australia and for those in developing countries and communities around the world who will be most affected by climate change. To cast your vote and be apart of this climate change movement come along to the BBQ voting event on Thursday the 17th of September between 10am-2pm on Mutant way, Burwood Campus. For more information on YOUth Decide or Deakin's voting event check out the following website, www.youthdecide.com.au/ and facebook group, YOUth Decide @ Deakin

When do you want your T2 Break? Now?

Posted 7th September 2009

DUSA has lobbied the University to reinstate the Trimester Two break, but we haven't yet decided when it should be. It is possible to have the break in week seven, half way through trimester. However, this timetable would not coincide with any other school holidays. To match our T2 break with other schools and universities, it would be in week eleven of trimester. A break later in the trimester does not only match with the September school holidays, it may also be better for revision, and will allow many to travel to University Games. Email the DUSA President on dusa-president@deakin.edu.au with your feedback.
