From on-campus events, to sporting sessions, online gatherings, and nighttime parties – there was something for everyone at T2 OFest! We had a fantastic two weeks welcoming our new students, catching up with familiar faces, and showcasing the amazing clubs and people we have at DUSA.
T2 OFest kicked off with Beats & Eats in Burwood and Welcome Lunches at our Geelong and Warrnambool campuses. These events were a great opportunity to meet new people, catch up with friends, enjoy some free lunch, and kick back to great music!
Our DUSA Market Days (including our Clubs Showcases) in Burwood
and Geelong were super fun with live music, free food, activities,
prizes and giveaways! There was also an opportunity for students to learn new
skills during T2 OFest. Our Self Defence Class at Burwood taught students essentials
safety skills, while our Mocktail Making Workshops at Burwood and Geelong continued to
be popular – with students learning to make a delicious mocktail in a fun and relaxed
environment.
Our online events allowed students to get involved with T2 OFest from any location. The informative Get to Know DUSA session explained more about DUSA and student representation, while our Trivia and Games Sessions were a chance to have some fun, get competitive, and meet other students with similar interests.
OFest was an opportunity to showcase some of our sporting clubs and give students the opportunity to try something new! Our Come & Try Sports event gave students the chance to try volleyball, table tennis and chess, while our Deakin Dragons futsal teams showcased their skills when they took on Melbourne University in the DUSA/Optus 2024 T2 Futsal Showcase. With free food, DJ tunes, games and partner activations it was a great way to spend a Friday afternoon!
Finally, our OFest events finished off in style in Warrnambool with the 2024 Winter Ball. Lots of laughs, amazing outfits, and live music that had everyone dancing the night away!
Thank you to everyone who came along to our events, and a huge shout out to our student volunteers, clubs, partners, and everyone who helped make the last two weeks a great way to kick off Trimester 2!
