DUSA’s Self Care Week is a chance for students to take some time out, make connections, and prioritise physical and emotional wellbeing. This week we had events on-campus and online offering a mix of music, food, giveaways, games, exercise and community.
Our Beats & Eats events across all campuses were well attended with free food, live music, giveaways and activities designed to promote social connection and student wellbeing.
Online, students had the chance to participate in a variety of DeakinActive sessions including yoga, pilates and meditation. We also held an online session titled Where in the Word with DUSA where attendees participated in a Geo Guesser game, polls and interactive chat.
More intimate events such as Hug in a Mug and Coffee with a Cop were held at Burwood campus. Hug in a Mug provided students with the chance to relax and catch up over a hot drink and biscuits, while Coffee with a Cop was an opportunity for students to get to know local police officers and catch up with other students in a relaxed environment.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our events across the week and a huge shout out to our DUSA volunteers, clubs, partners, and everyone who helped make T2 Self Care Week a success.

Remember, your mental and physical health is just as important as your academic success. Even as Self Care Week concludes it’s worth keeping in mind the ‘Seven Pillars of Self Care’ outlined in the image below.
