T1 2020 Exam Information
As exam season kicks off, here is some helpful information so you know exactly what you’re getting into over these next 2 weeks. Make sure you read over any pre-examination information given to you by your unit chair in addition to the key information below.
Most exams will be replaced by online assessment tasks that you will complete at a designated time during the examination period. If your unit was scheduled to have a final exam, information about the replacement task will be published on your unit site before T1 SWOTVAC.
It is essential all students read Deakin’s Exam Replacement Tasks FAQs.
All exam replacement tasks will be subject to the usual conditions that apply to examinations:
Strict deadlines – there will be no extensions or allowance for late submission with penalties (unless you apply for special consideration);
Applications for special consideration have been simplified if your ability to prepare for or complete an exam has been directly impacted by COVID-19;
If your application for special consideration is approved, you may be required to complete a supplementary task at an alternative time; and
Access Plan adjustments will be reviewed and applied to the exam replacement tasks where needed.
There are two units with invigilated exams (SRT251 and SRM161). If you are enrolled in these units don’t forget about the support options available to you:
You must consent to being recorded and you should have received an email asking for your consent. So if you are not comfortable with being recorded you can complete an alternative assessment;
You can withdraw your consent at any time and complete an alternative assessment;
You can apply for special consideration if you have any issues during or prior to the exam that impact your ability to complete your assessment; and
There will be a support team available to assist you if you have issues during your exam.
Additionally, please look after yourselves during this time. Although it’s good to focus on studying, make sure you take some time to look after yourself too!
