It’s official! We have got some tips and tricks to help you graduate from home.
Sure, the ceremony and circumstances might look and be different, but all those late-night study sessions and assignment submissions deserve a celebration, and we’re going to tell you just how to do that in isolation in light of our international students graduating in absentee in October!
Gather your fam, housemates or whoever you live with and make your living room the new Costa Hall. Organise a seating arrangement, create a makeshift stage and nominate someone as a guest speaker to gloat about your successes and achievements over the past few years. Don’t forget your cap and gown for that Elle Woods graduating from Harvard Law moment where you can officially close a very memorable chapter in your life.
Better yet, gather your other Uni friends who are also graduating and host one big ceremony over Zoom! You can whip up a slideshow with something brief about each graduating student and even take a group pic for the gram.
A pandemic can’t stop you from partying, even if it’s from home! In the end, a party is a party and you can host a real rager whilst remaining safe alongside those you live with. With almost every online party shop providing the goods, add some graduation themed decorations to your cart and make your living room a certificate sanctuary! If you’re feeling creative, DIY your decorations here, or get baking and treat yourself to some graduation sweets!
Sad you’re missing out on getting those grad pics? Never fear, you can still look sharp and get some snaps from home! Whether you style your hair or put on some blush, ask a member of your household to take some pics in your cap and gown to hang onto forever and make your graduation as memorable as possible. Mix it up by adding some backgrounds and getting creative!
We want to hear and see how you’re celebrating graduation from home via social media! Don’t forget to tag @YourDUSA and share your snaps!
