The university is continuing to manage the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic and do all that they can to ensure students have the best educational experience possible in the circumstances. Please note the following information:
On-campus teaching – given the escalating circumstances, Deakin will not be resuming on-campus, face-to-face T1 laboratory and practical teaching from Monday, 30 March as had earlier been advised. This means that students are no longer required on-campus. There are some exceptions to this for a very small number of courses, and those students will be contacted directly. For those students whose units include labs and practicals Deakin will be communicating the plans for how these are delivered as soon as they can. Deakin will also notify you if your unit enrolment needs to change by the end of the week.
Cloud Campus – online learning continues for all students. T1 assessments remain unchanged in most cases and exceptions will be published on unit sites. The exam period will continue as planned with online assessments.
Social distancing on-campus – if you need to be on-campus, for internet connectivity for example, our libraries remain the best option. The social distancing rules will be strictly enforced. This is crucial for your health and wellbeing, so please pay attention to any direction given by security and other staff.
Student accommodation – Deakin are discussing on campus accommodation with residential students today. Residential facilities remain a critical and essential service for those students who have no alternative to continue living on campus. Deakin has ensured the safety and wellbeing of the entire residential community as they work through this process.
