DUSA is excited to announce the ‘Confined but Connected’ competition running in Trimester 2. Although we may be isolated, and confined, we thankfully live in a time where we have the resources to remain connected to our loved ones via many mediums. The current social situation is difficult; however, a shadow can only be cast when there is light through which it can fall. We may feel as though we are living in a shadow, but the small moments of connection are the sparkling dust particles refracting the surrounding light. Express how you connected while being confined through writing, visual and digital media.
This art competition is open to all current Deakin students to submit either visual art, digital art or a written piece that represents their personal experience of isolation with a specific focus on connection during confinement. Specifically, how social distancing has impacted every person to varying degrees.
Winners will receive:
- First place – 1 prize per category (Visual, Digital, Written) = 3 x $300
- Runners up – 1 prize per category (Visual, Digital, Written) = 3 x $65
Competition opens on Monday 27th July and submissions are due in via email by Friday 28th August at 5pm.
Students to submit their creative piece by emailing email@example.com
Important dates: Submissions due 28th August 2020 and winners announced by 11th September.
