The Deakin Teddy Bear Hospital (DTBH) is a multidisciplinary student-led initiative, run entirely through the involvement of student volunteers, particularly those studying within the Faculty of Health. This program aims to familiarise and de-stigmatise healthcare settings and processes for children, through fun and informative activities ran right in their own classrooms. Early primary-aged students and their respective teddy pals are led through multiple stations that mimic some of the common healthcare services. This club also enables our members many opportunities to build their paediatric communication skills and meet like-minded healthcare students. With many other fantastic events on offer, ranging from training nights to our Waurn Ponds Day, there's plenty to look forward to with DTBH!
