Register to Vote in the 2019 Elections for the Queer Representative positions
To be eligible to vote in the elections for the Queer Representative 2019-20 positions, you will need to register on the Queer Representative Electoral Roll. This separate, securely stored register of voters (“electoral roll”) will be kept and used by the Returning Officer only for the purpose of the elections held for the position of Queer Representative/s 2019-20.
For the purpose of these elections for the Queer Representative positions, “queer” means any person who self-identifies as:
x. Asexual; and / or
xi. Being of any other sexual or gender identity outside of heterosexuality and/or cis-gender.
A person may only vote in the annual elections held for the position of Queer Representatives if they are:
a) a current member of DUSA and student at Deakin University;
b) queer; and
c) registered on the electoral roll created and maintained for the purpose of the election of the Queer Representative positions.
Elections held for the position of Queer Representatives will be conducted electronically and details on how to vote will only be provided to those students who have registered to vote.
The Electoral Roll will be maintained securely and confidentially and managed in accordance with the provisions of the:
a) Victorian Equal Opportunity Act; and
b) Australian Privacy Principles (APP)
